UEFA Europa League, also known as UEL, is a professional football tournament in Europe for men. There are overall 32 teams that typically compete in a period between August and May.
In its present format, the Champions League begins in late June with a preliminary round, three qualifying rounds and a play-off round, all played over two legs. The six surviving teams enter the group stage, joining 26 teams qualified in advance. The 32 teams are drawn into eight groups of four teams and play each other in a double round-robin system.
The winner of the UEFA Europa League qualifies for the UEFA Super Cup and, since the 2014–15 season, for the following season's UEFA Champions League, entering at the group stage, as well as for the UEFA–CONMEBOL Club Challenge since 2023.
Spanish clubs have the highest number of victories (14 wins), followed by teams from England and Italy (9 wins each).The most successful club in the competition is Sevilla, with seven titles. Colombian striker Radamel Falcao holds the record of most goals (17) scored in a single season of the tournament.
The current holder of the title is Sevilla and the team that holds the most titles is Sevilla.
